Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Intern Software Engineer at IBM India Systems Development Lab (IBM ISDL), you will engage in various stages of product development, including design, development, testing, and support. Your work will span across core system technologies such as operating systems, firmware, systems software, storage software, and cloud software.

At ISDL, as an Intern Software Engineer:

• You will focus on developing IBM Systems products by collaborating with development, product management teams, and end users worldwide.
• You will analyze product requirements, determine optimal design strategies, implement/code solutions, and test throughout the product development lifecycle. Your role may also include validating and supporting IBM Systems products.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficiency in Java, Python, GoLang, C/C++
• Familiarity with AI, React.js, Angular.js
• Experience in Python or other scripting languages
• Basic knowledge of Linux commands
• Understanding of basic storage concepts
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (server, network, storage) for product/app development
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and Rational Team Concert
• Experience in automated and continuous delivery, including writing/defining unit tests, automated builds, and test runs

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deliver on agreed goals and coordinate team activities/collaborate to achieve the team’s vision
• Ability to work effectively in a global team environment
