Your Day at NTT DATA

The Associate Software Development Engineer assists in designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Responsibilities include assisting with detailed design for certain modules/sub-systems, prototyping for multi-vendor infrastructure, and showcasing it internally or externally to clients. The role involves designing and developing functionality in a micro-services environment, working with APIs, telemetry data, running ML/AI algorithms, and handling both structured and unstructured data.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop solutions and functionality that drive business growth.
• Assist with writing and testing code.
• Execute automated testing.
• Participate in software deployment.
• Deliver software components in collaboration with the product team.
• Support integration and solution building through automation and coding, using 3rd party software.
• Craft, build, and debug large-scale distributed systems.
• Write, update, and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Refactor code and review code written by other developers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• Knowledge of cloud architecture and services in AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, etc.
• Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience with micro-services-based software architecture and API product development.
• Proficiency in SQL and no-SQL data stores including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Knowledge of container run time (Kubernetes, Docker, LXC/LXD).
• Familiarity with agile and lean practices, and test-driven development.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a diverse, cross-functional team.
• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Attention to detail.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals.
• Leading SAFe.

Required Experience:

• Entry-level experience working with geo-distributed teams through various project phases.
• Familiarity with tools across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience in Agile and Lean methodologies, Continuous Delivery / DevOps, Analytics / data-driven processes.
• Experience with large data sets and applying ML/AI algorithms.
• Experience in developing micro-services and RESTful APIs.
• Entry-level experience in software development.
